Lifestyle Photography and Fine Art Portraiture

Family photography has evolved over the last few decades.  It used to be the only way to document your family was to go to your local photography studio and pose for traditional portraits.  The industry has expanded to include many more types of sessions, giving the client the option to choose the style that best suits their personality and budget.

Lifestyle Photography ~ Lifestyle photography is a kind of photography mainly aims to captureportrait/people in situations, real-life events or milestones in an artistic manner and the art of the everyday. The primary goal is to tell stories about people's lives or to inspire people in different times.
Fine Art Portraiture ~ Known also as "photographic art", "artistic photography" and so on, the term "fine art photography" has no universally agreedmeaning or definition: rather, it refers to an imprecise category of photographs, created in accordance with the creative vision of the cameraman.

What style am I?

I'm somewhere between Lifestyle Photography and Fine Art Portraiture.  I have a background in Fine Art Photography, I was trained on BW film,  and I love to experiment with creative techniques.  My goal with each session is to capture the connections between you and your loved ones in an artful and authentic way.

Why do I do what I do?

I believe family sessions should reflect who you really are, and you are more likely to share that with me if you are relaxed and having fun.  I'm less focused on perfection and more on connection and authenticity.

How do I do it?

We will walk, talk and play.  We will use activities and movement to guide us throughout the session.  Rather than pose you,  I will guide you towards engaging with your loves.  I only come to the shoot with a few planned shots, and the rest happen organically.  I will also focus on details, your babies fingers gripped around yours, your daughters messy braids, or your toddler son's pouty, kissable lips.
