Hi, I'm Sarah,

I am a  fine art portrait and lifestyle photographer, which is a fancy way of saying I like to take pictures of people.

I'm a twin as well as a mom of twins and I buy everything in twos at the grocery store.

I grew up on a farm, moved to the city, then tried the suburbs.  It turns out I'm a farm girl, coming back home to roost.

I've been with my husband for 1/2 my life and I plan to spend the rest with him.  Also, my family is EVERYTHING!

I want to travel and I'm also deeply rooted at home.  I can't decide if I want to move to Ireland or stay home and binge watch Downton Abby (for the third time).

I like the dark side and the light side, the pretty and the ugly.  I want to appreciate the in between moments and then put a bow on top.

I have a deep rooted love of black and white photography but I own very little black or white clothing.

I'm very easily distracted and appreciate shiny things...SQUIRREL!

I used to be a gymnast, then a musician, and now a photographer, so I like defining myself by my pursuits.

I prefer winter to summer.  I'll take a snow day over a heat wave any day!

what is your style of photography?

I’m a combination of Fine Art Portraiture and Lifestyle photography.  Learn more here.  

what are your sessions like?

My sessions are relaxed and fun.  Photography should not be hard work.  We will walk, talk, get to know each other and play.  I will guide rather than pose, and we will work together to create authentic images for your family.

will you recreate this image i found on pinterest?

No, while I find pinterest very useful for inspiration, I will never copy another artist’s image or style.  I have worked very hard to develop my own style.  So, if after viewing my galleries, you feel we are a good fit, I will be honored to make unique images for you and your family.

where should we schedule our session?

I love shooting outdoors.  Give me trees, give me water, give me wide open spaces.  I have extensive knowledge of locations, but I’m always up for suggestions if you have a location that is special to you. Here are some of my favorite locations!

what if it rains?

We have some options.  I have a list of rain locations, we can switch to an in-home lifestyle session, or we can reschedule as long as I have available dates.  Learn more HERE.

what should we wear?

I want you to be comfortable, usually a slightly dressed up version of yourself.  Complementary colors are better than matchy matchy.  Avoid labels, and avoid large bows for baby girls as these elements can distract from your cute bundle.

can we bring extended family?

Yes, but there may be an additional fee or additional time needed for our session.

can we bring our dog?

Yes, I love fur babies!

do you offer mini-sessions?  

Only once or twice a year. Sign up for my newsletter to find out when these will happen.

how long until we get our images?

2-4 weeks depending on the season.

how much is a session?

We have some options here.  On my investment page, I have prices listed for sessions and collections. Prices start around $575.
