Best Locations for a Family Photography Session in South King County

Since moving to Enumclaw I’ve been on the search for all the best locations for family/lifestyle photography sessions. My adventurous clients and I love to get out in nature and with spring upon us, I’ve compiled a list for you to peruse as you are planning on booking your photographer.

Deep Lake, Nolte State Park ~ Enumclaw

A lovely spot in between Enumclaw and Palmer WA, my family mostly knows Deep Lake as a flat mile long loop hike to take our dog or a swimming spot for super hot days in the summer. At sunset though, with calm, glassy, reflective waters and trees that soak up the colors of the season, it is an excellent spot for family portraits.

Kanasket -Palmer State Park ~ Ravensdale

Situated on the Green River and equal distance from Enumclaw and Maple valley. Fun for kids who like to throw rocks in the river, so basically everyone.

Rattlesnake Lake ~ North Bend

A bit out of the way but well worth the drive and ideal when the lake is low for optimal exploration. There are some awesome tree stumps on the shores and sticking up straight out of the lake that when the water level is low, kids will love to climb on.

Federation Forest State Park ~ Greenwater / Enumclaw

This place is a hidden gem. About 25 minutes up 410 from Enumclaw, nestled in the trees, it’s a perfect spot for warm summer days when we want to avoid the harsh overhead sun. This gorgeous park also has a sweet spot by the river for a more open feel.

Lake Wilderness Park ~ Maple Valley Arboretum

Lake Wilderness Park is a large regional park with lots of prime shorelines, preserved forestland, and meandering pathways. There are fun stumps to climb on and a playground your kids can enjoy after our session.

Clark Lake ~ Kent

Clark lake is like a little oasis in the middle of Kent WA. It’s got a little bit of everything, from fields, to trees, to a dock on the lake, to a boardwalk through the wetlands. It’s dog friendly (on leash of course) and a great meeting point for my Seattle friends looking go get out of the city for the day.

My Farm ~ Enumclaw

Always available and ever-changing with the light and the season. A friendly horse and squawky chickens are a draw for kids. We have 5 acres that are always fun to explore!
